So I Was Sick The Other Day…

Yesterday… er, today at 2 something in the morning, I woke up and spent an hour or so trying not to throw up. I’d never felt that sick before. It was awful.

But for some reason, once I’d showered and cleaned up (and gotten a good ten hours of sleep) I felt like writing.

I guess it takes being sick for me to get back to editing my book, eh?

Anyone else have a similar story?

Finally! After much procrastination, and doubt, chapter 3 is finally done.

I’d love some reviews, since I haven’t gotten any for the new version yet, and it’s kinda putting me down.

Tired Of The Procrastination…

Yes, I’m very tired of it. I sit down to write, and get distracted; ultimately forgetting I was even writing in the first place.

So I now have a few goals for my new novel (hopefully around 55,000 words…) I’m working on.

Get two chapters out in a week.
Have the novel be (at least) 14 chapters long. If you do the math that’s about 4,000 words a chapter (Not too hard…)
Take Saturday off every week. (Or tuesday…)
*hopefully* be finished by… the 11th of August. (7 weeks away.)
Find a writing buddy to keep me on track.

And that’s about it. Whatcha think?

Working On Chapter 3

I’ve been a bit lazy… Instead of editing, like I planned, I hung out with friends (which wasn’t a bad thing) but… totally lost the motivation to edit anything until… now.

Also, I’ve been reading new chapters of some of my favorite stories on fictionpress and I realized something… The story I wrote, however much I hate to admit it, was horribly cliché. And that, really pissed me off…

I may be taking a break for a few days and starting a new story… Just to vent, and prove that my writing isn’t actually THAT cliché.

*sigh*

Working On Chapter 2

So, seeing as I’ve gotten everything done that needed to be, I’m back to editing. But, sadly, I’ve run into a problem…

See, I wrote the story a few months ago, and since then, my view on how it should start and end has changed. What the problem? The fact that I’m not sure I’m ready to change it.

I had fans with the previous version, and I guess… I’m a bit nervous.

There are so many things I’m changing… What if no one likes it?

Should I just go on and write it how I believed it should be? Yes. That’s what I think… But what about the people that liked the other version? Would they be disappointed?

*sigh* See, as I’m writing this, I guess I’ve decided… My writing is for myself. If people like it, that’s great. If they don’t, oh well. Maybe I’m stressing this a bit too much.

What do you think?

Editing, Editing, EDITING!

So lately, I’ve been putting some serious thought into editing the book I finished… say, three to four months ago. I’ve spent days and days telling myself I was going to do it tomorrow. Then tomorrow turned into Friday. Then friday turned in Saturday. Then that turned into… next month.

Today, I finally did it. I went back, read the entire story and edited the prologue and first chapter. I’m proud of myself, for sure.

So, to keep up with the editing, I made a few goals for this summer and the book:

Edit something every day.
Post the chapters here.
Get through one edit (all the way through the story) by July 20th.
Work on the sequel.
Post the chapters of the sequel… -_-
Stop procrastinating…
Have fun!

And that’s about it so far. Anyone else editing their books?

What To Do When…

Well, hello there. Take a seat, this is gonna be a long post…

I’ve recently been in that phase of writing where you have tons of ideas and no idea how (or when) to write them down. Recently, I finished a book, started a sequel, then lost interest entirely. What to do? Start another one, of course!

But now, i’ve started a ton of new stories, yet never gotten more than a few thousand words into them. Hm… I’ve tried a writing schedule, exercises, reading, and taking a break, yet I keep leaving them unfinished. Is this a bad thing?

It took me a while to write my first book; not only because of things going on in my life, but also seeing as I love to procrastinate so often… I assumed that once I’d finished one, it would just come much more naturally and just end up as a… book. But, no, it hasn’t, and now I’m losing my motivation to even write.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE writing. It completes me, and my life. But sometimes it can be so frustrating. Especially when you don’t end up with anything to show off after all of your hard work.

So what to do? To write, or not to write? Well, only time will tell…

Writer’s Block (Or Not…)

I’ve been working on the second chapter of the sequel to TSBHG, and I feel like I keep coming up empty. I want to write, and to get the next chapter done, yet I keep writing complete… well, junk.

I’m only 2,300 words into it and I’m already running into writer’s block. *sigh*

I took a day after writing, say, 500 words, and started to (or tried to) continue today, but it still isn’t coming out just right. It’s just plain… annoying.

My goal is to be at 3400 words today at the least, but even if I do, it’ll all probably just end up being deleted. Oh well.

Maybe I’ll start working on one of my other stories I put off to the side, just to get my writing flowing again.

Is anyone else having this problem too?
